Duke is a tall, sweet 9 year old boy. When he first arrived at my house, he calmly entered and tolerated the yipping and howling of my chihuahuas. As I talked with Michele, who brought Duke to me, he walked up and placed his head on my lap. Right away, his trusting, tender nature was evident. He minds very well in the house and outside on the leash. He is fully house-trained. We took him to a dog park where he bounded around with a happy look on his face. He met several other dogs, and each meeting was friendly and playful. When Duke is vocal, he communicates more or less through musical groans. They are very endearing. He will stay on the floor if you want him to, but he definitely enjoys being able to curl up on the couch. Duke has a thin coat and some signs of aging in his body. But his personality and demeanor are that of a darling gentle pup.If you’re looking for a sweet dog who is ready to bond with you, a dog who is a pleasure to walk in the neighborhood and bring to a dog park, an easy-going, playful, well-mannered dog, Duke is easily at the front of the pack.
