| Jasper |
Jasper is a very large, 2 1/2 year old, male dobe who has the strength of Hercules! He has tons of energy, we can not believe the people who had him did not play with him or let him go outside, he literally lived in their basement! He has loved the freedom of running outdoors with his new dog pals at the kennel. Yes, Jasper is currently at a very wonderful kennel as we are out of foster homes (PLEASE CONSIDER FOSTERING FOR US!) but will go into a real foster home soon. Update! 01/14/2011 Jasper was moved to a real home! He did get “the works” at the vet on Tuesday so he is doing some R&R to recover from his surgical procedure and will be able to again play in dobe fashion by the end of the week/weekend on a limited basis.
Jasper will need a home with a fenced yard, he has had no leash training and is very strong at 87#’s-he is not fat, even being fed a low quality food starting with an “R”, purchased at a large retail chain that starts with the letter “W”, in his last home. He is eating high quality food now! He really is very sweet, a little shy at first but is still excited to see you-even if he doesn’t know you. Jasper will “hold it” all night and does not pee or poop in his kennel, but he does love peeing on the very large plant in the lobby of the kennel 🙂 Typical juvenile dobe boy that needs some manners reinforced!
He has been introduced to cats and had the ‘what the heck is that thing” response. The dog savvy cat stared him down and Jasper backed away, refusing to look at it anymore.
Jasper will need a family that can actively participate in obedience as he has had none. This boy would be a great candidate for agility also!
