We are now fostering our first doberman. I was not sure how this whole fostering thing was going to go…
We received an 11 month old male who had been in two homes already with young children/babies and he was just too much of a naughty puppy.

Our first meeting he comes racing into our house with a crazed look on his face. What did I get my family into? Can we do this? He had been in a car for over 5 hours and so he was jumping on all of us including our well mannered 8 year old doberman.

I cannot begin to tell you how fostering has helped our 11 year old son with PTSD. He is getting the puppy out for a lot of exercise (which is what all dobermans need.) He feels he is helping this dog which is also helping him.

We had him neutered which was very hard, but in the long term it will help him be a better dog for his forever home. Watching this puppy thrive because he is getting exercise, consistency and love has been unbelievable.

We will all shed some tears as we send him off but knowing we helped him find a home it will be worth it.
