When I came into rescue I was sick with ear infections, worms and a number of skin issues. I also had some mobility problems with my back legs. My legs just weren’t working the way they should. I weighed less than 50lbs and was frightened and distrusting of most people. I didn’t have a very good start in life.
Two months later with lots of love, attention and a few costly trips to the vet, I am getting better physically and emotionally but I still have a ways to go- these things take time. My ears however are clear and my coat is looking much better. The worms have been taken care of. By being in rescue I am finally getting regular meals which is helping me to put on some much needed weight. My back legs are still causing me difficulty but my foster mom tells me that very soon I will be seeing a special doctor who will help us figure out why I walk and move the way I do. I would like to share that experience with all of you through this blog. Because of all the kindness I have been shown by DRM volunteers and donors I am learning that people do care and that maybe my foster mom is right…2012 will be a good year for me.
I will keep you all updated on my progress and my story. I hope it’s a good one.
Love-
Benny
