Greetings and Happy New Year!
We thought we should update you on Kaipo (f.k.a. “Toby”). He had a wonderful
Christmas, met lots of new people and has a new friend “Jake” who came to
stay for a whole week of doggie play and fun.
Kaipo also went to the Vet to meet all the good doctors and
their assistants. He weighed in at 74.1 lbs and is looking good. He has
learned that he need not “rush” his dinner or his breakfast because neither
we nor the cat are interested in his food. He has not decided the same is
true for his elk antler, bully sticks, Kong or any of his other favorite
chew items so those are hidden regularly in his bed.
He also finished his first obedience class yesterday. He
is, without a doubt, the star of the class and the smartest student. He is
learning to perfect his sit and he is learning “down,” “stand,” and “watch
me.” Kaipo thinks school and practice are great! School has lots of other
dogs and practice means he gets his favorite soft food treats! Yipee.
He is a dream and doing grand. I have enclosed a few photos – – one with
his best pal Jake — there was a second big bed inches away but they decided
snuggling up together was best. Another photo shows just how tired our boy
gets from romping in the snow and going for his daily 4+ mile walk. And the
last picture shows him perfecting his sit, and looking very pleased with
himself. 🙂
Our very best to DRM in 2013 — and thanks for giving us a chance to
give Kaipo his forever home.
